There are a lot of Home Inspectors out there, so why would you choose me?  A home is a huge investment.  You don't want to trust it to just anyone.  If you are going to spend your life savings to buy the home, there are some qualities you are going to look for in a Home Inspector:
Experience
You do not want an inspector's first inspection to be on the home you are buying.  I have over 20 years experience in home construction so I know what is a problem (and just as important, what is not).   I have also  been inspecting homes for over 14 years both as a Quality Control Manager for 2 different home builders and as a home inspector for people who were buying or building a home.
Qualifications
Check out my qualifications on my Credentials page.  I not only list my qualifications, anyone can claim to have this qualification or that one.  I make it easy to verify them.
Honesty
You want someone who you can trust.  You want someone who is working for you, not the seller or the Realtor.   You do not want an inspector who will not mention problems just so you will complete the purchase and he can keep the Realtor happy.

When I am inspecting your home, I am trying to look out for your best interests.  You may even hear me say that I do not know the answer to your question.  I have only been building and inspecting homes for about 25 years, I do not pretend that I know everything.  If I can't answer your question, I will promise to get the information and give you an honest answer.
Straight answers
You want an inspector who will give you straight answers.  Some inexperienced inspectors will make a big list of minor items and act as though each one is critical to your buying decision.  In the home inspection industry they are called alarmists.  I will do my best to find and list the things you need to know and try to help you understand which ones are critical and which ones are not.  My job is to educate you about the home you are buying, not to try to justify my fee and scare you in the process.
